River Liffey Cruise

Take a trip down the River Liffey on the all-weather, purpose built vessel, "The Spirit of Docklands".

The tour will take you through the heart of Dublin capturing some of City’s best views. The Vessel can accommodate up to 48 passengers, is air conditioned and offers maximum comfort and safety and is wheelchair accessible. Relax and enjoy Dublin’s past, present and take a glimpse of the future of our Beautiful City.

On board you will get an insight into the history of Dublin City and of the River Liffey in particular, from the first arrival of the Vikings over 1000 years ago, to the rapid development of the city during the 18th and 19th Centuries to become a major European capital, and of the subsequent decline and more recent redevelopment of Dublin's Docklands.

Hear the story behind the iconic Ha'penny bridge, Dublin’s Royal and Grand Canals as well as Gandon's masterpiece, the majestic Custom House. You will also see where Oliver Cromwell landed in 1649 and hear how Captain William Bligh surveyed Dublin Bay in 1800.
