Little Museum of Dublin

Dublin History comes to life at this charming non-profit museum. Housed in one of the city's finest Georgian mansions, it was set up to tell the history of Dublin in the 20th century.

The Little Museum of Dublin is situated on the first floor of a Georgian Building on St Stephen’s Green.  It was opened in 2011 to show case artefacts of Dublin in the 20th century. There are also items here that are associated with famous visitors to the capital such as John F Kennedy & Muhammad Ali.

There are now over 5,000 artefacts in the collection, as well as three floors of exhibition space and an acclaimed café in the basement. Many of the pieces that are on show here have been generously donated from Dubliners & range from old train tickets, letters & cards, furniture, pieces of art & children’s’ games from that past century. It’s a great museum for those who like to reminisce.

The museum is very child friendly, offering worksheets for children to complete as they go around the museum to help educate & make learning about the history of Dublin more enjoyable.  Children are also encouraged to interact with some of the artefacts on offer.
