One of Dublin’s most cherished Christmas traditions, The Moving Crib, is returning this festive season. Located in the heart of the city at St. Martin's Apostolate, this unique event offers visitors a chance to step into a magical Christmas display that has been delighting audiences for over 60 years. The moving crib is an intricate, life-sized nativity scene that comes to life through a series of mechanical figures, creating a captivating experience for both children and adults.
This year, The Moving Crib will be open from November 27th, 2025, to January 6th, 2026. Visitors can enjoy the display on 11am to 5.30pm daily (Closed Christmas Day, St Stephen's Day & New Year's Day. Early 3pm closing Christmas Eve & New Year's Eve). It’s a must-see for those looking to experience a traditional, heartwarming Christmas display in Dublin.
In addition to the moving nativity scene, there will be performances and carol singing throughout the event, adding to the festive atmosphere. The venue itself, St. Martin's Apostolate, is beautifully decorated for the season, making it the perfect setting for this timeless Christmas event.
