Dublinia, located at the heart of Viking and Medieval Dublin is a journey back in time through the city as it was. See a series of reconstructions, a Viking house, a Viking street, a medieval merchant’s house and the medieval fair. 

There are three exhibitions in Dublinia where you will see Dublin city from a new perspective. These exhibitions based on Dublin allow the visitor to interact with the exhibition itself allowing all ages to engage, learn and share. Come away knowing more about the citizens of Dublin throughout the ages and share in their experiences. 


Viking Dublin Exhibition
Go back to Viking times in Dublin! Try on Viking clothes, become a slave and stroll down a noisy street. See for yourself what life was like onboard a Viking warship. Learn of their long and challenging voyages, their weaponry and the skills of being a Viking warrior. Visit a smoky and cramped Viking house and learn about the myths and mysteries surrounding the Vikings and their legacy.

Medieval Dublin Exhibition
Travel back to medieval Dublin! From Strongbow to the Reformation. Learn of warfare, crime and punishment, death and disease and even toothache remedies of 700 years ago. See the city as it would have looked then.

History Hunters Exhibition
See how the History Hunters dig deep to uncover Dublin’s past! See genuine Viking and Medieval artefacts including those of a medieval skeleton, found in Dublin including those from the famous Wood Quay excavations (courtesy of the National Museum of Ireland). Learn how archaeology works with history and science to piece together the jigsaws of our ancestor’s lives and lifestyles. 

Dublina is a self guided tour, however for people who want a bit more information tours run from 2.30pm throughout the year, please contact (353) 1 6794611 for more information regarding these tours. Dublinia is located a short distance from the hotel. It is a very scenic walk down the river liffey.
